After the great success of our first edition, we are thrilled to welcome artists and audiences back to the beautiful Brandbau for the second edition of Jazzorwhatever!?. This year, we’ve worked hard to elevate the experience, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Get ready to immerse yourself in a vibrant celebration where jazz flows seamlessly into classical melodies, fuses with contemporary beats, and explores the dynamic realms of electronic soundscapes. Expect an eclectic mix of smooth tunes, bold rhythms, and cutting-edge sounds that promise to delight and inspire.
Co-curated by John Wolter and Mateus Wojda, this edition of Jazzorwhatever!? bridges generations and genres, offering a fresh and exhilarating journey into the world of jazz in all its colorful variations.
A Hologram Maze by David Austin Gray
A Hologram Maze, led by pianist and composer David Austin Grey, features a close-knit group of the UK’s finest improvisers, who bring a deep sense of understanding and common purpose to each composition. The band's music draws as much from contemporary jazz as it does from hip-hop, electronica, bebop, minimalism and romantic classical music.
Reis Demuth Wiltgen
Pianist Michel Reis, bassist Marc Demuth, and drummer Paul Wiltgen are among Luxembourg’s leading jazz musicians. Formed in 1998 during high school, their trio reunited in 2011 to explore new musical directions. Their debut album, released on Laborie Jazz, received critical acclaim, leading to worldwide tours and major festival appearances. Their latest album, SLY, marks their fourth release, showcasing fresh compositions and capturing the trio’s current musical identity.
Beluga - Jérôme Klein / Stéphane Galland / Louise van den Heuvel / Daniel Migliosi
The result of a carte blanche initiated in 2024, this project entrusted to Jérôme Klein brings together musicians from Belgium and Luxembourg. Around him is an exceptional quartet: Stéphane Galland, a leading figure in Belgian jazz, Louise van den Heuvel, bassist with Dishwasher_ and founder of Sonic Hug, and Daniel Migliosi, a prolific young trumpeter. Following research work at the Jazz Station, they celebrate the musical friendship between their two countries in a unique and intense concert.
